Dona Nobis Pacem

Dona Nobis Pacem

Hi, Raroa students!

Here’s a video of Dona Nobis Pacem (Latin for ‘Grant us peace’).

You have three options for playing this piece:

  1. Play the whole melody (hardest)
  2. Play only one part: part 1, part 2 or part 3 (easier – see image below)
  3. Play the chords (maybe the easiest – it repeats a pattern of 3 chords “D-A7-D-A7, G-D-A7-D”)

Please pick one of those three options, according to what you think you can play for the concert. Please leave a comment below and mention what part you’d like to play, to make sure we have a balance of parts. If you think there are too many of any one part already, though, please consider choosing another part.

Here is a chord chart for the piece. You only need three chords: D, A7 and G:

Then, please practice with the video (keep repeating your part until the end) with the following in mind:

  1. Timing (very important in a group performance!)
  2. Fingering

Play along with this one.
